Takuma Sato Bokuga Art Galleryへようこそ。

　90年代末頃、水墨画の技法を取り入れたモータースポーツ・イラストを描きはじめていた僕にとって、F1の本場欧州イギリスF3に現れ、日本人離れなアグレッシブな速さを見せていた佐藤琢磨選手はとても魅力的でした。この人の熱い走りを描きたいと思いました。
以来、イギリスF3、F1ジョーダン、BAR、スーパーアグリで活躍する琢磨を追いかけるように僕のイラスト制作も墨のF1アートとして形を成していきました。なので、ここにアップした作品は琢磨選手の軌跡であると同時に「墨のF1」にとっての成長の記録でもあります。（初期の作品はお恥ずかしくてアップしてありませんが。。。）
　このギャラリーは現在進行形のBlog形式です。琢磨選手のレース活動が続く限り、新作を更新していきます。頻繁に更新できないかもしれませんが、末永くおつきあいいただければと思います。

"Takuma Meets Suzuka" was the theme of my exhibition "F1 in Bokuga Art" at Historic Gallery, Suzuka Circuit during the Japanese Grand Prix in 2005. Suzuka Circuit is famous for the fly-over crossing and the Ferris wheel. Thus, BAR 006 on Suzuka track. (H. Tarui)

BAR Honda 006 at Italian GP

A work for my exhibition "Takuma Sato in Bokuga Art by Hiroshi TARUI" at Historic Gallery, Suzuka Circuit during the Japanese Grand Prix in 2004.

I produced several drawings for my Suzuka exhibition in September 2004. That was when I watched Italian GP on TV. Barrichello won the high-speed battle and Schumacher finished second, while two BAR Honda drivers ended third and fourth, which resulted BAR Honda to be second in the Constructors Championship by overtaking Renault. A work for my exhibition "Takuma Sato in Bokuga Art by Hiroshi TARUI" at Historic Gallery, Suzuka Circuit during the Japanese Grand Prix in 2004.

I have already drawn "Takuma's BAR 006 on the Indianapolis oval track" for Goodwood, but it was displayed in Suzuka Circuit Hotel, therefore I drew the same angle one again. Indianapolis has an oval track unlike the other F1 circuits. Also F1 machines go clockwise the banking track unlike INDY CAR, which I believe the most notable characteristic on the US GP. (H. Tarui)

Takuma Sato finally achieved a podium finish at the US GP in 2004.
He overtook his rival one after another and then finished third. There must have been many fans yelled in front of TVs just before dawn in early Monday morning.

I started draw this work on the following day and finished it as soon as possible. Then three days time, on Friday morning at the Narita Airport, I handed it to my friend who was flying to London for Goodwood Festival of Speed. It was displayed in the Kojima KE007 booth with my another work which described KE007 driven by Masahiro Hasemi at Fuji Speed Way in 1976.

This was also displayed at the reception of Suzuka Circuit Hotel with "Senna in McLaren Honda" and "Schumacher in Ferrari" at the Japanese GP in October 2004. (H. Tarui)
